Saving The Game

Karen is a pretty debutante from a very wealthy family and she's content doing what rich, pretty debutantes usually do. She has no idea plans are being made for her future--specifically to end that future. Will she, an inexperienced city girl be able to handle herself, her life and her heart in the wilds of Africa, accompanied by a charming man who knows everything to know about stalking and hunting prey--of all kinds?

Julian grew up killing dangerous animals in the African bush. He also has ties to a notorious mafia-like family and does "jobs" for them. This time, the job is to end a young girl's life. Never having killed a girl before and being against the plan from the start, what will win out, his fear of the head of the family or his growing affection for the young girl he must kill? Should he confess all and turn from hand of death to hero, and if so, how much should he confess?

The African wilderness holds more dangers for these two people than mere carnivorous animals--there are the dangers of love. Can Karen trust her feelings for Julian? Can Julian afford to risk falling for a target? Can the decision to trust and to love be made in the few seconds it takes for a lioness to strike?

Eighteen year old Karen is TSTL and I was kinda hoping Julian would just kill her. Instead, they spend two days together and are in love. It was never explained why Van Meer focused on her dad's company and was willing to kill to get it, and the relationship between Lucille/Julian/Van Meer was all jacked up and poorly thought out. I may have been able to overlook these things if the book was well-written, but it wasn't. I didn't like it at all and had to force myself through to finish it.

This was one of my Amazon free reads and I could not be happier to have found it!!

Such a great story with so many twist and turns!! I nice quick read but beautifully paced. I started it and went straight through to the end!

Karen is a great character if not a touch spoiled. It was a really unique situation she found herself in and I admire her strength.

From the start I liked Julian and really wanted him to be the hero I knew he could be!

Great storytelling and I can not wait to hear more from this author!!

Definitely adding her to my stalking...um following list!! Get this one while it is still free or pony up the cash because it is worth the read!
