This is about a boy who lost a mother and forced to lived with his grandma along with his dad in her house. One day, all the missing and lost objects reappeared one by one by a shy and magical creature named The Fynd aka the finder.

I almost cried for this short book. It was so fantastic and magical read for me. So happy with this one. Really lovely and whimsical.

This is a lovely little book. Freddie has lost his Mum and is finding it difficult to share his grief with his Dad. They move to his Gran's old house and when they decide to sort out the attic they find more than they bargained for. The story moves along at a nice pace, the descriptions of Freddie's grief are just right to set the scene and understand how he has been affected by his Mum's death without being over the top. Freddie's Gran is a lovely character and it was nice to see her through Freddie's eyes, at first he has no connection with her but gradually comes to see her in a new light. There is a touch of fantasy to the book but this helps to bring it all together. I will be passing this on to my daughter and I'm sure she will enjoy it.

Another one for the Enfield Children's Book Awards. This was a fast read and I really enjoyed it! Not as melancholic as I thought it was going to be from the blurb, a realistic view of grief. Good mixture of fantasy and developing human relationships. Suitable for ages 9+.

A nice little quick read that I really enjoyed. Enough realism so that it wasn't too unbelievable, but enough magical mystery to keep it interesting. I hope there's a follow up!
