Whew...what a ride. As expected, Niluo writes well, and as expected, this was a loooong story set in the ROC era. Followed the MC's life from 27 years old to 40+! I once dropped Niluo's fiction because it was so long and so angsty/heartwrenching, but overall this fic wasn't that angsty even though a lot of people died, but the MC overcame all the obstacles, a real strong character. The MC is not a good person, but he wasn't a completely cold-blooded bastard either... couldn't help but love him. Now I will pick up the author's other work that I once dropped a few years ago and finish it~ Though that work is pretty torturous and angsty >"<
