Mud, Blood and Cardboard

Rate this book
A burned-out former pastor is done with ministry. He has been wounded and betrayed by the people he once loved and served. He has been scarred by the battle for his wife’s life and sanity, and exhausted by the fight to hold his family together during years of turmoil. And now, working construction on high-rises in Las Vegas, he is burning with questions. Is God really good? How could a loving God allow such things to happen to his children? As he wades through the flames of hell on earth, he sifts through the rubble of his life that once was to find the truth about the truth. All his questions are narrowed down to this one query: “Is this all just a joke, or is God doing this to us on purpose?” The answer will catapult him and his family headlong into their destiny.

Gripping from beginning to the END! WOW!!!

There are few authors in the world that have the gift that Rudy Trussler has in writing a story, a true life story, that is so compelling that you want to keep reading.

There is a line, actually several chapters, that I absolutely love the way Rudy formulated...
"We survived an elaborate assassination attempt orchestrated by the devil." I want to use a colorful metaphor right now but I will refrain and just say, "No kidding."

You will be absolutely engrossed in Rudy and Anna's amazing life and feel triumphant alongside of them all the way to the end. At times you will have to remind yourself that what you are reading is true...this stuff actually happened to this family and you will shake your head in unbelief.

Read Mud, Blood and Cardboard and find out how BIG our GOD truly is...AMAZING!

This book came at a very perfect time in my life. Reading about Anna's brave fight against depression and how Rudy managed to do what he could for her was like reading how my husband might feel. I have struggled with depression all of my life. As I read through each chapter I felt like I had come to a place of understanding that I did not have before I read the book. Especially reading about the struggle of going back to church after being a "failed" minister. I am a person who has left the ministry and my life hasn't been the same since. It is great to read that you both made it back to ministry after the years of struggling. I can only hope that there is some hope for me to get back to my happy place in life. Thank you for your testimonies, thank God for your book.

A raw, honest look at life behind church doors, the effects of mental illness, and unfettered, redemptive hope. Buckle up. This is intense.
