It has been six years since the events in Everywhere But No Place.
Jinzy and Cobalt are still up and running. Tweed, the Host, was unable to shut them down. Now the whole prison network is on the verge of collapse as they run riot and their power grows exponentially.
Haze is asked go back to the World created by the Host, to try and remedy the disaster that he unwittingly instigated all those years ago.
However, there are other forces at play, powerful characters with their own motives and desires. Haze is soon caught up in a life and death struggle deep inside a machine whose mind is failing and whose creations are close to destroying the burgeoning colony of artificial intelligence.
But there is more at stake than just Haze’s life - and the others trapped inside the Hosts’s mind. Jinzy is on the threshold of a break-through, something that could possibly change the fate of mankind if he is successful.
The Host has been a storyteller his whole life, but the question Haze must answer is; at what point does the story itself take over; and what ultimately has more power, the story, or the teller.
