The authors vividly depict the courage and fortitude of the early Baptists, whose unflagging conviction enabled them to succeed while so many other sects fell by the wayside, to establish their church as a major modern religion.
Super easy to read. Obviously a little out of date, but I didn't get bogged down in the language anywhere. I think it would be a good starter book if you're interested.
This book was really well written. Jordan and Stifle do a great job in explaining all the facets to the non-religious community about our faith. Theology, history, and the basic tenets were very well covered in the story. My only problem is that the authors had a chance to go into more detail into some of the schisms that the church went though and could have made the work more lush in explaining things but besides that an above average piece of religious literature.
This is Baptists for Dummy's in a nutshell and even though it is a lay and older work; Jordan and Stifle did a good job! Good book and a good read in general!
