The Man Who Sold Mars
Everyone has dreams that if money were no object they would do: become a great painter, sculpturer, musician, chef, electrical engineer, screenwriter . . . see the world OR see A WORLD . . .
And so did Stephen Young. From the time he saw the first man step foot on the moon he had a dream . . . be the first to step foot on Mars.
So like his dad, he became a Marine Corps fighter pilot. From there, he became a NASA shuttle pilot. But way leading onto way, he became an entrepreneur, a corporate raider, a king among corporate raiders. Buying and selling companies he amassed billions.
Beyond wealthy and still driven by a dream, realizing that all the technology needed to go to Mars already existed or could be had for a price, Stephen takes his gift for making money and his mastery of Wall Street to manifest into reality his childhood dream of becoming the first to step foot onto Mars, by becoming “The Man Who Sold Mars”.
And so, when this former U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot and NASA astronaut turned Wall Street Tycoon, decides to use the capital markets to fund his expedition to be the first to set foot on Mars, he finds the legal, governmental, romantic, and interpersonal trials and battles are much more difficult than the technical aspects of such a gargantuan undertaking, but refuses to yield to anything in pursuit of his quest.
