My Naughty Little Secret

Rate this book
From the moment she saw him on her first day at her new job in London, there was something about Michael which annoyed Siobhan Brennan… and something else that pulled her to this stunningly handsome man and his boldly arrogant personality. In spite of her misgivings she soon finds herself out on a date with him, and she is torn between a desire to defy him as often as possible and a deeper, more disturbing need to submit to him. It certainly doesn’t help that very embarrassing thoughts keep popping into her head uninvited: images of herself bent over, bare bottom on display, waiting for Michael to chastise her firmly.

It is not long before Siobhan, in a rash moment, actually dares Michael to spank her, only to find that he is more than up to the challenge of turning her naked backside bright red. To her horror, her sore behind only fuels the fire growing within her, and she is soon on her knees before him, blushing with shame yet needing him to take her and take her hard.

It is only afterwards that the couple must come to terms with what took place, and what it means for their relationship. Was this just a one-time event, something to be tried but never repeated, or will Siobhan find herself punished like a naughty girl again in the future? As scandalized as it makes her feel, in her heart she knows what she needs, but is Michael prepared to give it to her? And when she finds out that Michael has kept something important from her about his past and who he really is, will she be able to forgive him or will the revelation tear them apart forever?

The accidental writer, that’s me!

A lot of writers will tell you that they dreamed of being a writer for years and were making up stories from they were knee high to a grasshopper. And a lot of them loved English class.

I dodged all forms of essay homework (not even bothering to look for an original or plausible excuse) and entertained myself and by poor desk mate during my English classes by very rudely paraphrasing and taking the mickey out of Francis Bacon…yep, looking back, that’s probably when I should have had my first good spanking. If not for wasting my own education, then surely for distracting my misfortunate neighbour.

Then I started an affair with my computer, so much so that I nearly had to be surgically removed from it. And what’s an affair without a good measure of hot sex and erotic spanking? And that’s how it happened!

My Naughty Little Secret is my first book. The next one will show a common feature with the last: A feisty Irish girl with more spirit than sense and a tanned bottom to prove it. What can I say? I just love strong women and spanking…

When I’m not writing, I’m a wife and mother living in the West of Ireland. My job description varies from taxi service, washerwoman, chief cook, gofer and general finder of lost items. The writing has to fit in around that.

Thanks for reading.

My naughty little secret is reading this book! If you don't like hot sexy scenes, it won't be for you. It was so hot in places, I thought steam would come up from the pages.

I really enjoyed this book. I read lots of romances and lots of spanking novels and I liked that this one didn't feel formulaic. The characters were very real, and the sex and spankings were very hot. I liked getting to know Siobhan as she started a new job, began a new relationship, and dealt with her family. She made me laugh on more than one occasion and I even loved that she had flaws, it made her more relatable.
I think this was an excellent debut novel by the author, and I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

I just finished reading this and loved it. It was different than any other in this genre (and I love them all). In this case, the heroine was feisty to say the least, smart, funny, spoke her mind - all of it - and on top of that, she was able to submit to Michael.

Michael was at first very closed off for me to get to know. I liked Siobhan better. But going through the story, following the little things and the big things (and wow on the plot - suspected the BIG secret but wow), it was really very different to watch this couple develop. And it was HOT. Spankings were sexy, sex was hot, loved it all. And as a treat, a little bit of intro to the Irish. Loved it.

This wonderful romance shows Ms. Finnegan's national background to its maximum charm. Full of incident both from the life of a young Irish woman in London and from her life back home, and full of steamy BDSM sex, it seems to invite the reader into the author's own fantasies and her own experience. Ms. Finnegan writes directly and succinctly, and occasionally turns a phrase that reminds one of the greats of Irish literature.

Siobhan Brennan is the epitome of an independent woman. She is feisty with a touch of that brash wittiness that only the Irish can do so well. Siobhan grew up in a small fishing village in Ireland. She moved to London to make her way in the world by her own merit. Siobhan was lucky to find a house with two incredible roommates, Claire and Tara. They make a fun loving trio who have a lot of laughs and have grown to be true friends.

After getting the shaft on a deserved promotion at her previous job and finding herself at the cheated on end of a long term relationship, Siobhan is looking for a fresh start in her career at least, love can wait. She is offered an interview at Banbury’s, a prestigious department store in London, and lands the job in short order.

Michael Henrii is the new head of Banbury’s buying department. He is confident, gorgeous, and more than a little self assured. Siobhan is attracted to him immediately, but is determined to dislike him. She knows his type. He’s arrogant, cocky, and way too self assured for her taste. In her eyes he is a man who probably gets what he is after far too often.

Siobhan finds herself all too quickly on the fast track to more responsibility at Banbury’s catching her a bit off guard as she was not expecting to take on so much so soon. She proves herself up to the task though continued run in’s with Michael leave her confused about his motives and intentions. It doesn’t help that scene’s of him as a stern schoolmaster keep creeping into her thoughts unbidden. Before she realizes what happened she finds herself agreeing to a date with him. After a wonderful date the heat level rises when she goes home with him for the night. I needed a cold shower after those delectable scenes.

Siobhan was on cloud nine after the satiating night and morning they shared. However, Siobhan’s inner conflict over Michael’s stern, bossy, yet incredibly sexy ways comes to a head at lunch. Determined to pay the bill even though she has agreed to allow Michael the honor she slips the waiter payment under the guise of visiting the ladies room. Michael is furious. A clash of wills ensues with Siobhan lashing out and Michael being quietly stern; reining in his fury until they get back to Siobhan’s house.

“You think this is about you paying for lunch? Maybe it started that way Siobhan, but honestly, the way you yelled and swore, you were like a three year old having a tantrum. With a foul mouth like that, you deserve a good spanking.”

Uh oh, he really shouldn’t have said that. The headmaster image was back in my head in a flash and boy, was I ready to play out the role of the naughty schoolgirl. The thought was really hot. I could feel something deep inside me stirring an awakening of my true self.”

I’m sure you can guess what happens next and this takes their relationship to a whole new level. Something awakens inside of them that they just can’t squelch or deny. The flames engulf as they begin to explore this lifestyle that they stumbled into. Without giving anything away I am going to say it is HOT, HOT, and SCORCHING HOT! As you read their sizzling exchanges and conflicts they hit along the way you will be pulled along. Siobhan’s fear of commitment along with the normal ups, downs, and doubts that come with this type of relationship keep you on your toes, and wow, just wait for the incredible plot twist that comes out toward the end of the book! You will be so glad you decided to pick up this book.

My Naughty Little Secret is a smart, sexy book that is told in first person and vacillates between storytelling and action. I really enjoy author Tara Finnegan’s refreshing take of modern day romance with a twist. She does it so well that it’s believable yet is still sexy as hell. Her characters are real, entertaining, and relatable in every way. Yet the heat factor is STEAMY! The plot is as good as the spanking and sex scenes which are off the charts good. So mark my words you are going to want to read this one!

The COVER IS VERY MISLEADING(because of it am almost embarrassed to recommend it to friends, and I almost didn't buy it-a trusted friend told me 'not to judge a book by its cover')-
This is a professionally written book- A REAL BOOK, tons of porno scenes, BUT REAL nonetheless.
Not cheap or badly written like 99% of its genre. It's not your everyday SMUT BOOK.

The characters are nothing BUT authentic. It's plot driven, and those pages turn
I didn't even mind the romance, which was weaved in all through the book, without making me vomit (it's Not your usual ROSE-PROSE-BOOK ROMANCE) but The kind, EVEN I could relate to.
Now, I don't want to mislead you-This book DOES HAVE HAS TONS, I MEAN TONS of EXTREME SEXUAL SCENES.
Scenes that got my blood pumping. AND I MEAN PUMPING at high levels.
(When I read a scene on the train before work, I couldn't concentrate the whole day..).

The writing is light and fast. Aside from the sex scenes which are very, very, very HEAVY,VISCERAL -in a good way.

TWO FINAL COMMENTS:
1)if this would be made into a movie-it would be a SMART ROMANTIC FLIC...WITH XXX HARDCORE PORNO SCENES.

2)I wouldn't be surprised, if one day we find out that Tara Finnegan is an already popular author-ess from Ireland/England(am not mentioning any names, expressly) who wanted to secretly write "THAT" "DIRTY BOOK" she always had in her mind, without ruining her reputation(because it is EXTRA DIRTY).

Ill bet you, there is no amateur behind this.
In a nutshell I recommend it.

"Holy discovery, Batman"!

The things one can discover about oneself, by...coincidence? As "Gibbs" would say, though I don't recall the Rule # off-hand, "No such thing as a coincidence".

Still, a well written contemporary story about two people perfect for each other, who still have "stuff" to work out, just like the rest of us mere mortals! Let me add to that: MORE to work out than most of us!

Appropriately applied...therapy?? unlike many stories with DD, though had I been "Shove-on" (LOL), I might still have taken more advantage of my "back atcha" opportunity...

The half star goes missing over Siobhan's chronic jumping to conclusions. I know, I know...its just the requisite tension/drama that books need. But no, this book didn't need that much. It was gorgeously conceived and well executed without the whine that broke the Five-star back.

Still, excellent voice in Tara Finnegan, and I will seek out more of her tales.
