Imagine 500 years of candle soot, dust and dirt on a ceiling... This book included some interesting details on how the Sistine Chapel has been restored and cleaned over the years. Otherwise this book doesn't stand out against others on the same topic. Maybe that's because reading about cleaning isn't too stimulating.

Since we just were inside the Sistine Chapel, I appreciated reading about it's history. I found all of the information about the pope's involved with building and decorating it great to know.
