Jason has completed his homework for the first time! It sits safely on his desk, all ready to hand in the next morning. His older sister warns him not to leave it out because The Homework Goblin could steal it! Of course, Jason doesn't believe her, until he sees the goblin disappearing out his window grasping his homework. Jason then sets off on an amazing chase to get his homework back. Will he succeed? The others are Ghostnapped and Obi the Super Puppy and the Mystery of the Red Mist. She was motivated to write this story because, "I love hearing excuses for not doing homework!" Ashley Howland lives in Adelaide, South Australia. She is inspired to write by her husband Ross, her daughters, Maddy and Aijay, and her dogs Stitch and Chewie. They along with the memories left by Obi are an endless source of material and happiness. Ashley is the author of Ghostnapped, Obi the Super Puppy and the Mystery of the Red Mist and The Homework Goblin. She also has stories published in a variety of anthologies. “The Homework Goblin,” written by Ashley Howland is about a boy, his homework and the Homework Goblin that is a well-written story that leaves the reader in suspense as they continue to read, wondering what might happen next. The story keeps the reader interested at all times and is easy for children to read. The story was very creative and my daughter and I did not see the ending coming. The story had action in it, causing the reader to become more involved as they wonder what happens next. The story was very creative and my daughter and I look forward to reading some of Ashley Howland's other books.

This is a cute story about a crusade embarked upon by a kid frightened by the homework goblin. The illustrations are hand drawn for that classic storybook feel and the story itself gives me that nostalgic feeling of having been a kid with a wild imagination and while entering into the world of responsibilities.
I think it does a great job of relating to kids and telling the story from the boy's perspective.

It also works to encourage children to be diligent and take pride in their work at a most impressionable age.

The Homework Goblin written by Ashley Howland is genuine, creative, and entertaining. The author certainly knows how to target her audience and has successfully created a wonderful story kids can relate to and will enjoy. The main character, Jason, in the story struggles with his grades, the homework, and the relationship with his sister. His dream indicates all of the problems he faces in his life. Ashley Howland knows how to create many fast-paced action scenes that make the story so entering and interesting. If you like an action movie, you will definitely love the book. Author Ashley Howland genuinely portrays the relationship between Jason and his sister and ends the story on a positive note between them. The book will be a nice read for all kids.
