You keep me safe, I keep you wild is a psychoanalytical essay written in narrative poetry, an exploration of the layers and dynamics of romantic love in all its forms: innocent, restless, destructive, enduring, gentle, and unconditional.
Part dream, part memory, part fiction, part reflection– written over eight years, from girlhood into early womanhood, these poems unravel the shifting emotions and emotional phases that different types of amorous relationships evoke in us.
Each chapter maps a pattern of instinctual responses, each poem a fleeting state of spirit.

I was given the opportunity to have this book sent to me kindly by the author, and this reflective piece did not disappoint. I found it to be quite hard-hitting in parts, but I enjoyed the emotional rawness this reflection caused, and it made me consider and reflect on my own experiences. All in all a 5/5 read for me. I also very much enjoyed the mix of genres that were sprinkled within the poetry. Thank you again Crystal for letting me own a copy of my own, was a very enjoyable read.
Okay, WOW, I went into this expecting a drastically different set of poems than what it was, but I am pleasantly surprised with where it ended up! Fantasy romance? Dark poetry? Self-discovery? yeah, a little sprinkle of each, what a journey
Well put together and easy to get into. The poems flow like a story, and a few of them really stand out. It’s not overly dramatic, just honest and well-written. Worth a read if you’re into personal, reflective stuff.
