Hit Girls tells the story of two mob assassins - Jessie and Nikki Darling. The twist being that Nikki is a fourteen-year-old psychopath, who became an assassin after witnessing her parents' violent death. The girls are trying to find out who killed their parents while working for the mob.
This book is extremely violent, sweary and features some sexual references. It's also a great, fast-paced thriller which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Warning: The author and I are in the same writers' group online. While I try not to let this colour my reviews, I think it's only fair to point this out.

This is something I picked up purely for pleasure rather than a submission for a professional review. It's brutal, the action is intense and gorey and the swearing will make the most hardened of sailors blush. That being said, it's fun and remains light. The plot moves along at a good pace and the tones match the characters. There are a couple of continuity issues in the beginning but the overall writing is tight and free of editing problems. The ending will bother those who hate cliffhangers, but this is a series...

i totally loved it and need_need more! i think in a fabulously sick and twisted way Nikki embodies any woman who has been hurt or abused in some awful way, and while we're cheering for the revenge all those bastard deserve, we see how terribly damaging it can be. I'll continue to live vicariously thru Nikki (while a small part wishes I could be her) and enjoy every fuckin moment! EXCELLENT READ!
