Aesthetics of Agra and Jaipur Traditions

Rate this book
This is a translation of the original work in Marathi. The book is a thoughtful and in-depth study of the two gharanas from an aesthetic standpoint and examines not just the positive aspects but also the negative aspects of these gharanas. It looks at the personal experience of the making, contemplation and the presentation of music. The author helps to remove certain misconceptions about the Agra and Jaipur gharanas and presents his own ideas with a fresh and modern outlook.

This book was written as an argument against Vamanrao's theory on HCM Aesthetics. While this in itself is not problematic, the ridiculous extents to which Babanrao takes his logic to convince us of his arguments is well...ridiculous to say the least!
