The Battles that Shaped Indian History is a concise, factual account of the battles that have decided India?s destiny. It covers a spectrum spanning almost two and a half millennia- from Alexandra?s battle with King Poros on the banks of the Jhelum River in 326 BC to India?s decisive victory over Pakistan in 1971. Twelve of India?s major battles have been covered, each embellished with detailed maps and photographs. The characteristics of the main protagonists, the tactics and weaponry utilized by both sides and also the turning moment of the battles have been enumerated to make the battles come alive and help the reader understand them better. The book provides an interesting and incisive account of India?s military history and provides an illuminating overview of its battles. It highlights the tactical concepts, weaponry and thinking of Indian armies down the ages and also brings out the inherent flaws and weaknesses which were so often exploited by foreign invaders. The lessons of these battles can be applied in today?s conflicts and hold relevance even in the battlegrounds of the future.

Ajay is working as an assistant professor at Texas A & M International University, United States and as a visiting professor at Amity University, India. He completed his PhD from University Oregon, United States in Early Intervention and Special Education Leadership. Earlier he completed his M Phil with a focus on research methodology & human rights and master degrees in early intervention, counseling & psychotherapy, disability rights, learning disabilities with bachelor degree in mental retardation (BMR).

He is serving as an Associate Editor, International Journal of Disability, Development and Education; Co- Editor, Journal of Neuroscience in Rural Practice; and also serving as a member in the editorial board of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and Teaching Young Children. He is also associated as a member in the review boards of Pediatrics, Educational Assessment, Evaluation and Accountability, Journal of Special Education & Rehabilitation, Scandinavian Journal of Disability Research, Journal of International Medical Research, and the Journal of Pediatrics.

Since 2019 he is also working as a Postdoctoral Program Advisor with NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).

He is the Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM); Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH); and Fellow of the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (FAACPDM). He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Neurology, International Behavioral Neuroscience Society, Society of Behavioral Medicine, Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education, European Educational Research Association, and Academic Council of the United Nation Systems. He published and presented more than seventy six peer-reviewed research papers in several peer reviewed top tier international journals and in international conferences.

Awesome book. Beautifully builds up each and every battle covered. The maps really make understanding the maneuvers very easy. Highly recommended
