Marcus has a comfortable life as a slightly reclusive academic, however everything is about to change when he loses both his job and his home. Circumstances dictate that he finds him self living in an unpleasant flat and working at a day centre with challenging young people. He must embark on a journey of discovery, where he has to choose between the life he thinks he wants and saving the day centre he has learned to value from closure. More over he is forced to learn about real life and what is important to him. Most of all can he recognise his feelings for the woman he loves and make the right choice.

A funny, observant novel with a charmingly inept academic hero who discovers life in the real world after losing his job. Highly recommended. A real 'couldn't put it down' book.
