And thus did Young Stephanie both learn the phrase "hobby farm," a magical place where you could apparently have all the farm animals you wanted just for fun, and begin to fixate on the dream of living in such a place one day (a dream which sadly did not come to fruition).

I had completely forgotten about this book I used to check out of the public library, and honestly gasped when I saw its familiar cover on The Internet Archive. I read this book and studied its pictures to the point of obsession, in love with every last pet and dreaming they were mine/that I was the girl in the story. I mean. Her farm includes goats, cats, horses, a rabbit named Easter Bunny, and geese. She also shows her goat in 4-H and is raising a puppy to be a future guide dog. Tell me that's not the life.

A photographic storybook about the animals on Holly's hobby farm. It's nice to see real farm animals, rather than just illustrations and the book is informative about the animals and how they are cared for. Not very exciting, but a nice book.
