About the author

Stephen Crane (1871-1900) was an American novelist, poet and journalist, best known for the novel, The Red Badge of Courage. That work introduced the reading world to Crane's striking prose, a mix of impressionism, naturalism and symbolism. He died at age 28 in Badenweiler, Baden, Germany.

I enjoyed this short story allot because my teacher made it a very fun read. I liked how everything was described so vividly when reading the book. it was very easy to imagine myself in there shoes while reading the book, and I think that is very important for readers to do. This book definitely kept me interested and on my toes, I was eager to keep reading every time I was fired to stop.
I would recommend this shirt story to someone who's looking for a nice short read to take there minds off of things. I definitely will remember how fun it was to read this book with my classmates but specific parts in the book itself I believe the quote "Then he saw the man who had been running and undressing, and undressing and running, come bounding into the water." will pop into my head because of how it makes me giggle and the memories me and my friends had laughing at it.

I enjoyed this because my teacher made it really interesting in fun to read . I liked the book was narrated and described when reading the book. it was very interesting finding my self imagining being on the boat while reading the book, I think a lot of people should do the same because it makes the book a lot more interesting . This book interested me and made me want to continue each day I read this in class
