Nope. Wish I hadn’t read this series.
The first was ok but this second was infuriating.
200 pages and legit like 100 of those pages are either boring sex scenes or listing out clues to figure out her moms hidden message.
I at least thought it was going to be clever and explain the clues all Sherlock style. But it didn’t really. As someone who likes clarity and continuity, this pissed me off.
Then you go and… (SPOILERS BELOW but ffs I wish I knew this before reading.)
… Go and kill off the 1 male character who she spends the most time with and we get the most backstory for. Wtf. And not even in a BA way. No, these two idiots are tailed and stop to screw in the car instead of being certain they are actually safe?! DUMB!! And why was the vehicle not bullet proof when the cabin safe house has all these ridiculous upgrades? You’re more vulnerable in a car! This is also the 1 time they leave the house and it was a completely unnecessary trip that did nothing for the storyline. Not to mention it’s Sin on the phone who has the hit taken. They don’t catch the shooter (unless I missed something?) but the shooter didn’t tell Sin where they were??? That makes NO sense. Grr I hate dumb storytelling.
Also. This MFC is a Dr, as is one of her guys. And I’m over here like… she’s constantly puking, hasn’t had a period… ffs someone take her blood or make her pee on a stick because obvi 🙄🙄🙄 but no. They literally have no idea until the last couple pages and they are all like ooooh. Wait, I’m sorry was that supposed to be surprising? 🥱
It also could benefit from an editor. There are several typos and, like book 1, the formatting is just strange. Continuity issues to where you are thrown from one place to another or there are time jumps with no explanation. It’s confusing. Especially in the earlier chapters.
Yeah. Not a fan of this book. Sorry. The more I reflect the more I want to give it a 1 star. But I reserve that rating to books that are completely impossible to read. This was readable, just confusing and infuriatingly dumb.

This will tear you up.
I dont even know what to say about this. I loved the characters. I loved the story but darn did it break me. I was hoping that it was just a lie and Cayden would be back that they just took him to make it seem like he was killed but nope and it destroyed me to know he was gone. I felt bad for her and for Alex. I'm glad they told each other they loved one another before it happened. I felt bad for the other guys as well as they were a team for a very long time. I'm glad she had the other guys especially Alex who went through the feelings too. After all he did lose his love too. Sorry that was a spoiler but think of it as if you don't like a story where one dies. Then you can back out but I'm telling you this duet is so good. The author nailed it. Minor neg details but nothing worth mentioning.
