This has been my garden reading for sunny moments when I can't whatever novel I'm on. Its an extremely thorough passage through the year in a British garden, with an aim of shaping and enjoying the spectacle of the passing weeks. Sometimes the lists are so full and thorough that I have to confess to skipping the odd paragraph, but I have dwelt on the plants I know, and the opportunities my own garden presents. Having finished, I think I need to go back to the start again, but that's gardening for you.

A very romantic image of floral abundance in the garden. Crafting the feast to engage our senses in the pleasure of gardening. He covers the subject by season and how the garden tells its creators story.
