I want to sincerely thank you for writing Mastering SQL Joins. As someone who is actively improving their skills in data querying and analysis, I found this book incredibly helpful and inspiring.
You have taken what is often considered a complex topic—SQL JOINs—and explained it in such a clear, relatable, and practical way. Your use of real-life analogies, visual diagrams, and step-by-step examples made the learning process approachable and even enjoyable. What stood out most was how you shared your own learning journey, which made the content feel personal and encouraging.
The book is structured very thoughtfully, starting from the foundational CROSS JOIN, progressing through INNER and OUTER JOINs, and leading into calculated columns and data transformation techniques. The included practice questions and detailed solutions were especially valuable—they allowed me to apply what I learned immediately and reinforce my understanding through hands-on experience.
I highly recommend this book to anyone learning SQL, whether they are beginners or already have some experience. It truly fills the gap between theory and real-world application.
If possible, I would love to see more content from you in the future, perhaps on more advanced JOIN techniques or how SQL is used in real-world projects. I believe such resources would benefit a wide audience of developers and data professionals.
Thank you again for your time, effort, and for sharing your knowledge so generously.
Wishing you continued success and many more impactful publications ahead.
This book is a helpful guide for mastering SQL knowledge. It is understandable, even for the very beginners. The author encompassed the practical lessons after each chapter, which is crucial for the learners to understand the concepts easily. It provides real-world scenarios and uses cases where SQL joins are commonly used. It gives an understanding of how joins are applied in practical situations and can be valuable for readers who want to apply the knowledge to their own projects or work environments. The book covers the concept of SQL joins in depth. It goes beyond the basics and explores more complex scenarios, such as multi-table joins, self-joins, and subqueries.
The book was a god send because I’ve been hankering to learn beyond the basics that I know so far. I wanted to learn the differences between Left and Right Joins, for instance. I knew it would make my work easier at the office if I apply better queries. I knew I could save time with the more complex queries. And the book took me in that direction quickly.
Previously, I needed to download my data from a simple query into excel and do a lot of manual work on it before it gets into the form my report template wants. Now, it turns out it just takes a few additional keywords on the query statement (I can even use conditions, and some calculations right on the column itself) and we’re good.
Exactly what its title says ,short, clear, and to the point. It skips the fluff and dives straight into explaining the different types of SQL joins in plain language, with examples that actually make sense if you’ve ever had to deal with database queries. The practical questions at the end of each section are a nice touch, they’re not overly complex, but they make sure you truly understood what you just read. A focused crash course on joins, it’s a solid pick for beginners and a good refresher for anyone rusty on the topic.
With me being an sql beginner, this book has been simple & easy to read but to the point. You can tell as you go on that this guy not only knows what he's talking about but also has a deep love & passion on.
This book is a great quick guide for anyone trying to understand SQL joins better. It explains INNER, OUTER, and other joins clearly, with helpful visuals and exercises. I liked how simple and practical it was. Perfect for beginners or anyone needing a refresher. It’s short but effective.
If you're already familiar with basic SQL and want to move toward practical, business-focused data analysis, this book is a must-read. It helped me sharpen my ability to query large datasets effectively and draw actionable conclusions—skills that are now essential in my day-to-day work.
Hi if you've ever stared blankly at a tangled web of INNER, OUTER, LEFT, and RIGHT joins wondering what arcane ritual you need to perform to make them work—Mastering SQL Joins is your guide out of the maze.
loved how the author simplifies the concepts well. the visuals and examples were so easy to follow.
and even though i didn't download the datasets as i had my own to navigate, just having this guide book as a framework really helped me upskill in SQL!
I have been in the database industry using SQL Server for over 10 years now. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking towards becoming equips with Joins on SQL Server.
The breakdown of SQL Joins is amazing. Dane you have solved a million problems for practisioners , educationist, professionals and all generally. Well done and keep it up.
