Strategies That Can Help You KEEP IT SIMPLE, KEEP IT SAFE

Living a Worry-Free & Secure Retirement

A meltdown of the markets, a large federal deficit, a high number of baby boomers leaving the workforce and going on to Social Security—these factors all amount to an economic “perfect storm” for retirees.

Americans need a better way to invest their hard earned assets. They need an understanding of how Wall Street functions and how markets work. They need the confidence in knowing that they are investing prudently and making smart financial decisions.

This book provides the ideas and insights needed to navigate through these challenging times. Whether you are already retired or saving for retirement, this will be the most important financial book you will ever read.

Very repetitive - would be more useful for an older generation. Thought I was getting a head start but it was not the most helpful. Gave me some little nuggets of insight though.

As a financial advisor, Harwood is a huge advocate for having one in your life, and provides a checklist for choosing your advisor as well as what they should be doing for you. He tells you in detail how to get the best bang for your buck and how to monitor every single dime spent, saved, and invested. He even includes appendices in the back that feature lists of questions to ask your advisors to ensure your monetary safety.

“You are the steward of your money, and you need to be actively involved in developing and monitoring your plan. […] Learn to ask hard questions and to judge whether your finances are set up in your best interests, not someone else’s.”

Harwood does a great job of educating his readers rather than trying to sell them on his own guru-style promotional materials.
