It's taken a while, but I finally got there. This book has lots of good advice, presented in an easy-to-read manner. But if you've already read a lot of relationship/marriage books it doesn't contain anything ground breaking.

For those reading this who actually know me, yes I am single. No, I don't have any intentions of getting married any time soon. But having come from a 30+ year relationship that was not built on communicating (or, should I say, it was built on not communicating), I thought I probably had something to learn to improve my own personal skills in that area. I found this to be an easy-to-read book, which I may well read again in the future to refresh my memory. There's a lot in it that applies equally well to relationships other than marriage, so don't let the title put you off. The Grants are well-known in New Zealand for their relationship advice; this book is almost 20 years old, and while one or two attitudes have changed since then, it is still very relevant today.
