Dr. Williams examines the late poetry of Chaucer and shows how the poet argues for christian Realism in opposition to the ideas of Nominalism. In consequence, the poetry of Chaucer retains its philosophoical relevance in an age in which relativism is the new Nominalism.
David Williams, 1939-2015, was Professor of English at McGill University in Canada from 1967 to 2006, and Emeritus Professor from 2006 until his death.
