I've never heard of Judy Markey before. I found the book to be entertaining and a quick fun read. Her despicable ex-(1st) husband and the situation he places her in were the least appreciated parts of the book.

"Just Trust Me" is a book I've been wanting to read for a long time because I was/am a big Judy Markey fan (she was a big radio personality on WGN that I enjoyed listening to). Now I find her to be a very good writer! I would rate this 3.8 actually -- close to 4. I liked the opening, where she sets up the book; I enjoyed the characters ---- very universal mother/child relationships. She takes on many parenting problems, problems with ex partners, problems with jobs, etc. I was very interested in the twin angle --- she is a twin in the book and having that character become an integral part of the story was intriguing to me, never having even a sister to share problems with. The writer handles dialogue well, and the story keeps at a rapid pace from one chapter to the next. I even liked the conclusion, which I don't necessarily like in books all the time because endings seem to be a let down in so many these days. But let's be frank about this one ---- it is very easy reading, worthwhile, but easy. It made me chuckle at times, and that was a bonus. I just really found this very good to pick, esp in between the heavier books we sometimes read in my book club. Thumbs up, Judy Markey! I happily recommend your book to others. Elizabeth Berg (a friend of hers) would be proud!

I ran across this in our local library. As a fan of now former WGN radio host Judy Markey and her partner Kathy O'Malley, I was anxious to read it since I miss hearing Judy on the air. At first I could hear her reading the book to me in my head. There are similarities to her life on the radio which I'm sure she drew. Slowly the main character Kate came to life and I lost Judy. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Just hit your "Back" button and go find another book.

A weak, victimized, totally dependent female crying and weeping because her teenage son is unhappy with her. So she'll go sleep with her coworker and make happy. Puhlease.
A promising storyline with a protagonist I'd like to toss out a very high window.

I read this because Billy Crystal blurbed it. I would watch it if it was a movie. It was fast, interesting and the MC was a crying trainwreck and her immaturity keeps this from getting higher ratings.

Another easy read, it's a good beach book. No heavy lifting involved.

It was an easy read with humor and chaos and showcased how far a mother will go for their children.
