This is why the South gets a bad name. This is the most crass, disgusting, and sad book I have ever had the displeasure of reading. There are even recipes in here. Let me just tell you, I wanted to run somewhere to get sick. AND there are even green and pink pictures (not black and white, that's too plain, y'all) for you to peruse before you get to the color picture insert. There are "redneck" definitions included in the front for those of you that haven't seen the show. UM, this book would only be for those who have seen the show.

I only "read" and rated this as it passed through my hands at a library. This is not something I'd purchase, nor would I recommend anyone purchase or borrow this. You could purchase it as a cruel gag gift, or borrow it from the library and leave it lying around the house somewhere for someone to find and get a laugh out of, but that's about its only use aside from recyclable paper.

**I received this book as part of a goodreads giveaway**

I found this book quite hilarious in most parts. Some parts were just a bit disgusting (ex. How to fart like Honey Boo Boo). The book included quizzes which tested your knowledge of the family & the show, and it also had several of the recipes they make on the show. I even made one (Roadkill Barbecue), and even though I didn't use Roadkill, lol, it was pretty good! The tips in the Fun & Games chapter seemed a little to duh! to me, it just felt like a pointless chapter. Chapter 7 (The Beautimous Queen) also seemed pointless really. I did enjoy the What my family means to me chapter, especially all the drawings. Overall, a good and quick look at the Shannon/Thompson family.

This book about Honey Boo Boo centers around family. It gives recipes and fun activities that get the family together and laughing. It is laugh out loud funny in certain parts and serious in other parts. You really get to see that the Shannon/Thompson family really loves each other and it challenges the reader to examine their family. The book as a whole is very funny. The quizzes and activity guides are hilarious, especially if you do them in a group. This book is a perfect gift for any fan of Honey Boo Boo.
