Dr. Packer, the Board of Governors’ Professor of Theology at Regent College, was hailed by TIME as “a doctrinal Solomon” among Protestants. “Mediating debates on everything from a particular Bible translation to the acceptability of free-flowing Pentecostal spirituality, Packer helps unify a community [evangelicalism] that could easily fall victim to its internal tensions.”

To tell you the truth, we were culling our books and this was on the chopping block. But I thought I'd give it a read before leaving it on a train or something. (I hate to throw books straight in the recycling bin).
It's pretty practical really. The 6 studies basically are:
1. God will guide you - assurances from Psalm 25
2. The Spirit's leading - examples of how the apostles seek his leading in Acts 15
3. Making big decisions - Colossians 1 - pray for God's knowledge and wisdom, what does the Bible say, how might a particular decision affect your relationship with Jesus and your Christian witness?
4. Advice from friends - Exodus 18 - example of Moses taking advice from father-in-law
5. Suspect yourself - Jonah 1 - really question your motives and be brutally honest with yourself
6. Smooth sailing ahead? - Exodus 13,14 - even the truly right decision won't mean life will be peachy keen
From a group Bible study perspective, the questions strike a good balance of probing comprehension and open questions and the studies are a good length.
