Sienna and Frog belong to an organization run by Kema, a ruthless and calculating mastermind who will stop at nothing in order to maintain her stronghold on the city's streets. Frog is her number one enforcer and Sienna is her protege. Together, Frog and Sienna hold Kema down and wreak havoc as they discover an immeasurable degree of love in each other.
This was my first read by this author. Love In The Chamber had quite a few editing issues. I was surprised by that, since this is not Rasheed's debut novel. Although the story was sometimes all over the place, and I had to reread some parts, it had the potential to be good story. I feel like Rasheed could have went in more. I enjoyed where he was going, and would have like to read more about Sienna and Frog's relationship. I was not a fan of the abrupt ending. He left the audience baffled and expecting more. Hopefully, the he will write a sequel, so that we can see what part of the game Sienna was not ready for.
Written from a woman's point of view, Love In The Chamber is a story about Sienna, a young woman who is truly trying to find her place in the world. Turned into a sex slave at the age of 12 to feed her parents drug seductions, all Sienna knows is pain. Tired of being used, she runs away to her aunt's house where she meets Kema. Kema is a hustled to the core and shows Sienna that instead of being a victim, she has to show and prove she is not the weakling everyone thinks she is. Sienna also falls for Kema's brother Frog. Their relationship is an intense one without titles.
If you have read any of Rasheed's other books, this one is slightly different. There is more intensity, drama, pain, and emotion written among these pages. You can see Rasheed's growth as an author (at least I did) thru the plot and and by how well balanced the characters play off of each other. I can't wait to see what happens in part 2 with all of them. Job well done Mr Carter!!
What else would you expect from a Rasheed Carter Novel except a complicated tale of life told in such gritty detail that you feel as if you are walking side by side with the characters as they experience love, pain, ecstasy, violence and aggression. For those of you who have never read Rasheed before than you are really in for a treat....The relationships in this book are real as they come and mirror some of the issues faced in everyday society... Bravo Rasheed....... Moon
Rasheed never leaves you disappointed when you are thrust into his world of crazy, outrageous characters that leave you with your mouth hanging open. Mixed with a whole lot of drama, plenty of laughter and a bit of knowledge that will have you wondering where in the world does he come up with these characters. ::Smiles:: Oh yea, Team Sienna & Frog. Next up, part 2!
Actually I gave this book a 4.5 stars really not a bad read. Some parts got a little confusing where I had to reread to understand but it was good anyway. Rasheed you did your thing once again, this book was exception really loved it...:-)
This is the first book of Rasheed Carter that I have read. I really enjoyed it. Look forward to part 2. Sienna went through hell with her evil parents but came out of the hell thanks to Kema and her love Frog. Would recommend this book.
Omg! Meka was so very, very ratchet that I could barely read the first 2 chapters. I was glad when Sienna took off and even happier when Kema started teaching her how to get her life back. Now her and Frog just have to learn how to love each other. This ended up being a great story
This was a pretty good book although there was some editing that needed to be done but I was able pick up on what the author was trying to say. What i did not like was the abrupt ending. That kind of pissed me off to say the least. I wanted & still would like to know what it is that Sienna isn't ready for. Hopefully there will be a part 2
This story had potential but something got lost along the way. It was all over the place and other than Sienna i didnt get enough back story on the other characters to feel like they were well developed. Im not sure why the book is titled love in the chamber it doesn't quite fit with the story. Sienna seemed to go from a very bad home situation to almost over night gangsta. I feel like the story has potential and i could kindve see where the author was going. The timeline felt rushed but it wasnt a horrible story.
I enjoyed this read even tho it started out with some of the hardest reading I have done in a long time. This is life for some children growing up with drug addicted parents. It was an entertaining read, that at times hurt, but other times made me smile or even laugh out loud. I look forward to seeing how this turns out in the long run. Rasheed did his thing in this story, and you will enjoy it also.
Love In The Chamber was so not as good as I thought it would be...it was better. This was a story that you build the storyline. For some it could have been the street tale, hence the chamber. For others it could have been the love portion. Whichever you are looking for, love or action, you can't go wrong. Outstanding read Rasheed. You did that!
Man that was good as hell!!!! This author really takes his time to paint a full picture and it shows in his work with similes and metaphors. Few grammatical errors and sometimes the storyline went into left field but overall this was an excellent read. First book definitely not my last of this author. just purchased book two LEGGO
This book started off with me not wanting to read it due to the graphic sexual abuse but I continued to read it hoping things would change. It did however the story line was all over. I couldn't finish reading the book. .
This book is very interesting. It keep you on your toes. Hard to put the book down because you're wondering what's going to happen next. I love this book so much I stayed up all night just to finish the book and I brought part 2 & 3.
A mother and father training, coaching, and watching their daughter being violated by a grown man.....no thank you. Again, Urban lit does NOT mean trash.
