I have never before read such a thorough biblical exposition of the 10 commandments and their role in both the OT and NT. The author eschews theological systems and presuppositions and just lets the text speak for itself. It is a phenomenal work that shows what role the 10 have for Christians in the New Covenant and the proper understanding of them in the Old Covenant. A must read!!

Very helpful and clear, if not a little repetitive. If you want to have a good foundation for understanding the role of the Old Testament Law in the life of a Christian - especially considering the command the “be holy as I am holy”, this is a helpful book to read.

Author’s point: The 10 Commandments are not an adequate summary of the duties of someone under the New Covenant.

My evaluation: Covenant Theology cannot recover from the replacement of the OT law by the Law of Christ. If the laws are changed, then it cannot be the same covenant under a new and better administration.

I forgot to add this book for almost two years, but it has actually been very impactful on my theology. You cannot say that the OT laws are binding for the NT church in the sam way they were for Israel. Christ came with a new, and better law, and we are to follow the royal law, not the Mosaic law.
