About the author

Nathaniel Robert “Bob" Winters grew up in suburban N.Y.C. The Navy Vietnam Veteran earned a BA in History from Sonoma State University and a Master’s in Education from CSU Stanislaus. Bob has written and published fifteen books and has had stories and poems appear in many journals and anthologies. He has won the Napa College award for Prose. and the Lincoln international award for poetry. The retired teacher lives with his wife/muse in the Napa Valley. Despite having Parkinson’s disease, he writes every day. His last publication was White Fox Blues.

I graciously received a free copy through first reads.

This book was a very easy read, had it done in one day.
The story was good, I just wish bad things were not constantly happening to the main character. Plus so many things were happening, I felt like topics were just brushed on the surface instead of really digging deep into what would have actually went on.

I would still recommend the book to anyone.

This is so much more than a 'let me tell you about my fascinating life' book. Instead of self-glorification, Nathaniel Robert Winters lets his stories tell themselves in an engaging humble manner. Tim Jacobson is a character you will know and understand. You'll go to Rome with him, you'll skirt opiate dependence with him. You'll understand his flaws and his relationship with Lois. Read this and find out for yourself.

This would be a good book for anyone who likes sports fanfiction and Winters does an excellent job of writing in Tim's voice. But there are some things that would improve the book. There should have been some formatting changes to make it more clear when the chapters end and there should have been an additional proofreading. Also there should have been less incredible things that happen to Tim because they start to make his story unbelievable and not all of them are necessary to the plot.

I won this book on first- reads giveaway. This book is well written and would be an excellent read for people who like baseball. Once you start reading this book you will be captivated by Timmy's life.
