Digitalisation is the second issue of culturala, an art and cultural theory journal creating an interconnected contemporary art world. In this issue, we delve into all things what does it mean for us, for art & culture, and for the world to live in today's digital world? How can digitalisation be positive, negative and, as it turns out, uncanny?
This second issue features 15 writers, digital and sculptural artists, a tech specialist, a musician duo, and a poet. We feature the way they use algorithms in their work, how they see the digital as a way to pave the way for sustainable practices whether by allowing us to let it be in peace or by re-negotiating the dialogue we have with it, and the digital space as an uncanny, mysterious place where future and past converge.
True to the ethos of culturala to interconnect the art world through a direct, welcoming and accessible language for contemporary art & culture, digitalisation aims to be for everyone and anyone interested in what’s happening in the world today.
