I love stories that have diversified and unique characters. Loretta is a hoot.

Colter is a single dad. He made a huge mistake one night and his life changed. He's sorry he made that mistake but the results of having a beautiful daughter he considers a blessing. He lost the love of his life, Willa, when he made the mistake.

Willa has let the loss of Colter affect her life. No direction until she finally decides to take charge of her life and start anew. She ends up in Pronghorn with 4 other teachers only to discover Colter.

Colter is the president of the school board and he has his hands full with those board members. And so do the teachers. The interactions between everyone plus the kids are done beautifully. There are many teachable moments in this story.

Colter wants to apologize but Willa wants to move forward without Colter. Can Colter get Willa to forgive him and try again? It has been 14 years and they are more mature.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Anna Grace is an instant buy for me. I really like her warm, humorous writing style. This novel was so good. I found the school storyline a bit stressful. Working in schools is stressful!! Ha ha But her characters are charming. There are always laugh out loud moments too. Recommended! I already own the next book in the series. 😃

Lesson from the rancher by Anna Grace
A second chance…
With his first love?
Single dad and rancher Colter Wayne has moved mountains to bring teachers to Pronghorn, Oregon. So he’s floored when one of the new arrivals is the woman he almost married. To make matters worse, it looks like Willa Marshall still hasn’t forgiven him. But the kids need Willa, and she needs his help navigating small-town life. Can Colter and Willa learn to let go of the past and embrace the future…together?
This is Colter Wayne, daughter Sylvie and Willa Marshall's story.
COLTER WAYNE GRABBED a hammer and pounded a second nail into the detached floorboard. The teachers would be here any minute and he didn’t want them tripping over the threshold as they entered the building. The stakes were way too high to risk scaring off even one of the five new teachers.
And since Loretta Lazarus, local real estate agent and self-proclaimed school principal, was part of the greeting committee, some level of concern was to be expected.
THIS CAN’T BE PRONGHORN.
Willa Marshall gazed down the empty stretch of highway to her right, then turned to the left as the bus pulled away from the five young teachers. The air was warm and still, like the atmosphere was holding its breath, too. The only movement was a one-eyed cat darting out from behind a brick building. The animal trotted to the middle of the road, then sat on the faded yellow pavement markings and stared at them.
Willa blinked, then redirected her gaze to their surroundings.
Seven buildings, no people.
I recommend this book.
Lesson from the rancher by Anna Grace is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Anna Grace.

I would like to thank Anna Grace for this book. Lessons from the Rancher was so much fun to read. Five teachers who have no previous teaching experience are hired to move to Pronghorn, Oregon to start a school for students who haven't been in school for a couple of years because there wasn't a school. When Willa Marshall arrives in Pronghorn she wasn't expecting to find out that the school board president is a previous boyfriend she was in love with who broke her heart and left town. She decides to compartmentalize her thoughts so she stays on track to get her life back on track and make the school year successful for the kids in Pronghorn. The town is small with only one restaurant that doesn't have very good food and an owner that doesn't like people to request substitutions. Pronghorn run the streets and a cat named Connie lays in the street and doesn't seem scared of passers by. The residents of Pronghorn have high expectations and the kids aren't used to socializing with other kids. Willa and the other teachers are determined to make the year successful or bust. Willa also keeps running into Colter, her first love, and this is interesting. I highly recommend that you buy, gift, but most importantly read The Teacher Project, #1 and enjoy the book. I know you won't be disappointed.

First in The Teacher Project series, which promises to be a fun read. At least this first installment was. Anyone who has been a teacher or been around one or more of them will empathize with what these five teachers confront when hired to re-open a rural school that's been closed for three years of online existence only. The hilarity of their confrontations with the distrustful townspeople is laugh out loud funny.

Lead teacher is Willa Marshall who gets her first shock when the boy she crushed on in high school turns out to be the most prominent rancher in the area and the one who has been adamant about opening the school so that his daughter could succeed. Colter Wayne is thrilled to see Willa again; not exactly her reaction to him! But will time and her desire to bring the school to life for the 30 students using it change her view of Colter? And will the townspeople who distrust the teachers sufficiently to shut down the school?

A great series start to what I'm really looking forward to reading as each new installment comes out.

Colter is a sexy rancher and a single father to his daughter. Willa is a school teacher and she and Colter shared a pass. Colter did something and Willa left Pronghorn. Pronghorn is in need of teachers for the small town. Willa has never forgotten Colter. Colter is not only a rancher but he is the president of the school board. Now Willa finds herself back in the small town of Pronghorn as one of the five new teachers to the area. It has been 14 years since Willa and Colter have seen each other. Colter is already to apology but Willa has finally gotten her life together and she is ready to move on.

Will Willa accept Colter’s apology and forgive him, can Colter and Willa recapture what they once shared and have the HEA that they desire and deserve?

I received an ARC via NetGalley and Harlequin Romance and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

What a fantastic 1st story to kick off @annagraceauthor new series- Teacher Project. Willa Marshall and a group of fresh teachers land in Pronghorn, Oregon to set up the school and teach the students desperate for face to face contact. Single dad and rancher Colter Wayne broke Willa’s heart and is the last person she expects to see in Pronghorn. As they find themselves thrown together to help the school and the teachers make their mission a success, Willa and Colter realise that their love is not done and they are still in love with each other. I loved the small town setting, Loretta was a hilarious addition and the mix of other various characters added to the story for a fun mix of characters. I absolutely adored Willa and Colter’s second chance and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series! A huge thank you to Anna for sending me a copy of this gorgeous book ☺️

Lessons From The Rancher by Anna Grace is book #1 of The Teacher Project. This is a heartwarming story of a 30 something woman starting over in a very rural Oregon area by being the lead teacher in a new school. All thirty students have had online instruction for the last several years and Willa Marshall will have to put together all aspects of teaching. Including dealing with a board of education that is made up of volunteers with their own individual ideas of schooling. Willa and the other new hires are excited and up for the challenge. That is until Willa finds Colter Wayne is the BOE president. The same Colter that derailed her life for fourteen years! Interesting details on how teachers create student plans and activities.

I received this book for a true and honest review. Looking forward to book #2.

4/5 STARS! Omg I love teachers. (& cowboys of course) & this was the cutest story ever. Not only is it fun, wholesome, light hearted, & has a great cast of characters, but it also deals with so many real life issues, like the workloads of teachers & the issue of education in rural areas. I loved how this handled dealing with a broken education system while also dealing out a cute romance & warming your heart to good educators and schools! Just absolutely an adorable story & I cant wait to read the rest of the series.

Lessons From the Rancher: A rollicking story from the tiny town of Pronghorn, Oregon.
Concerned parents endeavor to start a high school with five first year teachers. Add to the mix an old flame, an outrageous volunteer principal, a cat named Connie, a conscientious young sheriff and her dog Greg, a herd of pronghorn antelope who assume they own the town and a family of sweet little hedgehogs who live in the town hotel with the teachers.
What could possibly go wrong?

Colter is a charming rancher and a single father to his daughter. Willa, a school teacher, shares a history with Colter. Years ago, Colter did something that caused Willa to leave Pronghorn. Now, this small town needs teachers, and Willa has never completely forgotten Colter. In addition to ranching, Colter is also the president of the school board. After 14 years, Willa returns to Pronghorn as one of five new teachers. Colter is quick to apologize, but Willa has moved on and doesn't intend to look back.

I loved the small-town setting; Loretta added a lot of humor, and the other characters contributed to the story's lively mix. Willa and Colter's second chance was heartwarming, and I'm eager to read more from this series!

LESSONS FROM THE RANCHER is a wonderful second-chance romance filled with humour and heart, characters I cared about and a quirky small Oregon town I’d love to visit.

I enjoyed going behind “behind the scenes” as a group of teachers start their first jobs at a rural school. The sweet and heartwarming romance between a single dad rancher and one of those teachers showcases themes of trust and forgiveness and is filled with poignant emotion.

With laugh-out-loud moments, smooth writing and charm, this story is a delight and highly recommended. It’s a fantastic start to THE TEACHER PROJECT miniseries and I’m already looking forward to the next book.
