Watched by Wolves: The Winter Wolves Book One
When the wolves appear, she must fight for her life or risk losing everything…
Sierra Wright is struggling to get through high school. Her grades are dismal, her mother resents her, and her extraordinary senses make it hard to fit in.
When a night out leads to trouble, Sierra is shipped off to northern Maine. Her new home isn’t what she expected from her grandparents who act like lovestruck teenagers to Reese, the star quarterback who is as nice as he is handsome. But even Reese can’t distract her from the wolves lurking in the shadows. To make matters worse, Evan, the gorgeous guy next door, barely acknowledges her with anything more than an icy stare. His blue eyes haunt her, his dangerous reputation warning her to stay away.
As Sierra settles into her new school, her world is shattered when she’s nearly hit by a truck and realizes someone is trying to hurt her. Not sure who to trust, she knows the wolves are watching her. Will they protect her or lead her into danger?

After reading Watched By Wolves, I can't wait to read the next installment~ Chosen By Wolves.
The story follows Sierra from a broken home in the city of Chicago, where she is sent to live with her grandparents in Maine. (Who doesn't love Maine) It starts out a bit slow, however, there is a secretive, intriguing undercurrent that quickly develops. And it's that undercurrent that kept me quickly swiping the pages. I had to learn more. The wolves were always appearing in Sierra's backyard. This intrigued me, and what part they had to play in the book. There's also handsome, quarterback Reese, the soon to be boyfriend. And then, there's the gorgeous, brooding Evan. By the end we learn a lot, but there is much more! I don't like to leave spoilers, but it's pretty amazing!
I'm looking forward to reading Chosen By Wolves.

This was a great read. I found myself reading late into the night as it really kept me intrigued. The author did an excellent job creating a "picture" of not only the characters but the scene in a very clear way which was fun to imagine. The story line was also easy to follow and very interesting. I just purchased the second book in this series and I look forward to reading it. Note: The most likely audience for this book would be young adult, but I am older and enjoyed it very much. It gave me the opportunity to remember back to my school days!

I really enjoyed the buildup and twists in this story, and the set-up for more!
The characters were well-developed and I appreciated how well-edited the book was as well.
I won't spoil anything, but there were some unexpected moments and good tension to move the story forward. I've read Tonya's other works and fans new and old will certainly like this latest trek into the woods and animal encounters!

I have read all of Tonya Royston's previous books. They are all wonderful as is this new one. I love how she writes the story. Her stories keep one on the edge of their seats. Looking forward to the next book.

An interesting and fresh take on YA paranormal story. Sierra and Reese make a cute couple. Not sure what Ethan's game is but we'll find out in the next book.
