Modern Infectious Disease Epidemiology

The second edition of this concise book clearly sets out and explains the analytical methods employed in the study of the incidence of infectious diseases. The well illustrated text uses practical examples throughout and has been thoroughly updated in line with changing health concerns,
including a new chapter on outbreak investigations. Now in a more user-friendly larger format the book has been redesigned to make text, illustrations, examples and equations more accessible.

I really enjoyed this book, at times it didn't really feel like studying but more like reading for pleasure. Then again, I enjoy learning about epidemiology and infectious diseases.

It was an easy book that will be handy to look up things in from time to time, had a lot of examples. At time it did got a bit too personal and "I know everything"-ish, plus the data was so old! Most was from the 80's. Even though this edition is fairly new, the data was not updated. Then again, it was not a large problem, the epidemiology of most of the diseases are still valid today and the study designs are the same.
