The essential guide to the Carolinas' NFL team, written by a reporter who has been embedded with the team since the very beginning. The Carolina Panthers have had a rollercoaster history that is documented in entertaining detail in this celebratory guide for fans. The book covers all of the critical moments, best players and most important facts of the past and present -- from the team's opening season in 1995 to the Super Bowl season of 2003 to the current-day stars of the most recent Panther playoff teams of 2013-15. Team facts, statistics, lore, and player profiles--including behind-the-scenes stories about players like Cam Newton, Sam Mills, Steve Smith, Luke Kuechly, John Kasay and Jake Delhomme--are all part of this bundle of Panther pride. The book collects every essential piece of Panthers knowledge and trivia as well as must-do activities, and ranks them all from 1-100, providing a fascinating and easy-to-follow checklist as readers progress on their way to Panther fan superstardom.
This is a great book for any Panthers fan. Although it's somewhat outdated by now and doesn't include anything about the Panthers' 2015 season (the book was published in 2013), it still provides a lot of interesting facts about the Panthers franchise from its inception. The writing is pretty good, although at times felt a bit forced and cheesy, but I enjoyed reading it as a Panthers fan.
One of the great things about this book is you can read the chapters about your favorite players and put it down. Then pick it up again and read about some other players or events. The difficult thing is putting it down - you want to keep reading. Then again, you want to save some chapters for later so the book won't end as quickly. This is one of the best of Scott's books - I bought several for Christmas presents.
