All of this author’s protagonists are masochistic women who have been hurt before by their ex(most likely named David) and most likely suffering from some injury to their back or their foot and rich, oblivious men who hurt the people whom they love, unwilling to love, getaway with not making a commitment, trust their admin/secretary so blindly but end up betrayed by the unassuming admin. The occupation may differ but who they are never changes. They all end up proposing without truly apologizing or groveling.

Unsurprisingly, its the same with this book. The H is a well known author and the h is suffering from a foot injury and is recuperating but the rest plays out the same way as the Fate of Happiness and a few other books by this author.
