Wet your toes in this chilling erotic tale of a love triangle created by one man's dying wish.
Calla faces an avalanche of grief and confusion when she finds out her husband Owen is dying. Owen’s last wish is that she and his brother, Ash, be together when he’s gone. The only problem is that Ash is not happy about the idea, but that doesn’t stop Owen from bringing them on one last sentimental camping trip, one that is immediately filled with intense longing, fear and denial.
Out in the forest, where past and present collide, where far off noises and active imaginations chill the spine, Owen intends to teach Ash how to be intimate with his wife.
Grief, strong wills and insecurities clash in the forest, where Ash learns just how deep the sexual connection between Owen and Calla is, and just how much he can relate. Throughout it all, Calla must find a way to bring the two brothers together to find resolution about their past, and to find resolution to her own doubts about the future.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of anal sex and references to violence in the past.
I must start off by saying that I normally look for books that have "happy", "love" and "romance" in them. I also don't mind BDSM but this story just took it to a different level than what I am used to. Passing the Torch is about a married couple, Owen and Calla. We find out in the story that Owen is dying, but we don't know from what. Calla has some very dark dreams and the story goes into great detail of her dreams. Somehow the dreams mean something, but I was never able to figure out what. Owen wants Ash, his brother and Calla to get together so Owen will know they will both be taken care of once he is gone. Owen shows his brother Ash how to "satisfy" Calla, which is HOT, but it is also a bit "abusive". The description of the "hitting" is more like abuse to me than erotic, but I am a "light weight" when it comes to stuff like this and others may really enjoy it. There is hitting with a stick and a fishing pole. Then there is a flashlight used instead of a dildo. REALLY? WTF? (sorry, that is what I said when it came to these scenes) What I did enjoy was the connection that the husband and wife had and the love of the two brothers. It does go into the history that the brothers have, but not so much for Calla. I know that it is a shorter story, but I wish it would have gone into more of the characters and their connections instead of so much of the dreams and darkness. The parts of the story where the author discuss' the love and sex between them was great. It wasn't a story that left me wanting more. It was just a bit darker than what I would care to have seconds of.
