OMG! This book is all kinds of crazy. I think it make be a fever dream or the product of schizophrenia. There are so many elements in 68 pages, I don't know where to begin!

Girl meets guy at party.
Next night he comes over and they have sex.
Fast forward, she is now a captive in her own home, continually raped and beaten by the man and his gun. Yes, raped by a black powder gun.
Oddly, she can still go to work to see her 99 year old client, she's a nurse.
She's supposed to quit.
The elderly woman, Emma now looks 35 and the heroine is in love with her.
Emma tells her to stay and rest.
Then explains that she's not having sex with a ghost but is harnessing her power as part of the One, which is not God. People are but a single skin cell falling off the body of the One.
She uses this power to fill her closet with clothes and make up.
Then Emma tells her she has to kill her abuser.
She falls into darkened despair, literally.
Then kills her abuser by controlling his thoughts and having him out the gun in his mouth and pull the trigger.
But she doesn't let him die completely. She tells him to come.
When she wakes up and goes to the front door, after Emma tells her she was only out for 3 seconds, long enough to pee on her. They laugh. Oh-Kay.
They go outside, there lies James, the abuser, hole gaping in his head. Words spilling out if the hole.
She dissolves the gun into the ground and makes James stand up.
Emma drops to her knees declaring that Magdalene is a god.
Nope, Magdalene clarifies, she's the devil.

How can I even review a book like this. It's delusions of grandeur and general psychotic-ness of the book is off the charts!

Devil is a novelette about Magdalene, a 22 year old girl and James, her lover.

This book starts off okay about a couple having an adult relationship. Then it becomes rather odd and stretches the reader's belief. This is followed by supernatural scenes leaving you more confused about this book's direction. When I got to the end I thought "what the devil was this all about"?

I got little reading pleasure from this book as I felt I was being led up the garden path. I did not like it's structure or the writing style. It started off okay with a little promise but slowly went downhill. The ending was very poor and just left me feeling disappointed. Devil misses the mark, I will vote it only 2 stars and I suggest you give it the MISS.
