Who was D.B. Cooper? He was America’s first air hijacker—home grown and never caught. In 1971 he commandeered a Northwest Airlines flight and eventually parachuted out with $200,000. To this day, his identity remains a mystery. In 2011, a person escaping from prison loses an artificial eye. Thus begins Detective Millard Whitney’s path back to D.B. Cooper. Millard thinks he has a simple murder case, but soon multiple bodies crop up. Millard finds that the first murder was just a warning. He discovers a club called, The Chillers, and we’re not talking about wine. Millard’s journey takes him to London and Paris, and then to Afghanistan and Pakistan, all in search of a serial killer. At first an artificial eye becomes the key witness, but then the story twists into “an eye for an eye.” Soon Millard himself has joined the ranks of “killer.” And he may not be able to solve the crime he has committed. A story of redemption without satisfaction.
