No clue as to who Luciano Rossi was? It doesn't really matter. Janisse's complete devotion, analytical skills, and unabashed zealotry for her subject will consume you regardless. I had no idea how many of his films I'd actually seen--hey! it's the cop from Gates of Hell!--but now I want to binge properly. A wild, passionate, and idiosyncratic read to be sure... but wonderful all the way.
