I love that he wasn't hiding anything from her. As soon as she catches him being sketchy, he comes clean and tells her what's up. There was no 'lying to protect you' bullshit going on. I just love that he trusted her (even though they just met) and he treated her as his equal.

There is a formatting issue. When there is a picture of a text, letter, cards etc. there is also a description of the picture right beside it. I'm thinking the description was maybe a placeholder for the actual pictures but they forgot to remove it once it had been added. There is one part where it has the picture of the next targets details, the description of what's in the picture, then Jet reads it as well. So it was the same thing 3x just different formats lol.

There is also a big editing error that starts on page 118. She's left alone and starts untying her hands and feet. Then out of no where it starts everything back over. The whole thing with her being tied to the chair, waking up to Mr. Orton walking in the first time, him slapping her. Everything that happened when she first woke up in the bunker is repeated instead of continuing after untying her hands, It was confusing at first but I caught on and just skipped it 'til I found the place where she was untying her hands again. There were some smaller spelling / editing errors.

The story started out okay. But the further into it I got, the cheesier it gets. A lot of the action stuff didn't make sense and seemed cheesy and off. The characters words and actions didn't seem genuine / natural or real. I know it's a fiction story. It's a made up world. But still, even in make believe stories, the reader has to believe / feel like what's happening is real. And I didn't feel like it was for this story. It was hard to connect with the characters. The story was okay.

As soon as the FMC and MMC meet, that is it. They are together and in love immediately. No relationship issues. The plot was about her getting kidnapped by corrupt politicians.
What's crazy was when she was being 'tortured' she stayed so damn calm. Orton ended up shooting Jet in the leg and Isla honestly could've stopped it. She apparently had a gun. Orton had his back to Isla, she could've tackled him or you know, SHOT him to stop him from shooting Jet... but she didn't. He shoots Jet, he talks, he then turns to Isla and THATS when she shoots him. Like if you are not going to save your boyfriend by shooting first, you could've at least shot him immediately after he shoots Jet... why wait. Also, how the hell did she get a gun? I am more than sure they searched her ass.. Not to mention she had been looking around the room for a weapon but all she had was the chair. I'm assuming she stole it from the guy she knocked out...

It was an okay read though. Not something I would read again and I don't plan on finishing the series.
