This book contains good, basic introductory information about rocks and minerals with several photographs and illustrations. Not only does the author make sure that the internal parts of the Earth are described, but she discusses the property of rocks and offers examples of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. This is a good book for browsing and a good place for a rock hound to start.
