An eye-opening look at what really goes on in the lives of coral reef fishes and invertebrates. Unforgettable photographs illustrate marine biology in action for all aquarists and underwater naturalists.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I read the book throughout about 3 sessions today (over the course of around 9 hours) and took 10 pages of notes.
The book is super straightforward with well explained definitions and an easy flow. For someone like me who used it as note-taking, I could skip some of the short stories and many of the photographs/captions, which made this a very quick read.
For someone like me who already had a base knowledge about most things in this book, everything was quite simple. Yet I still found new things and got some helpful definitions. However for others who don’t have a good base knowledge I think this book is a really good place to start learning, both to gain some well known vocabulary on marine life and (of course) to learn about reef life specifically.
Overall I would recommend, especially as the book is fairly cheap. It also was published in 2002, but doesn’t seem to have any outdated information.
