Quality Friendship, the risks and rewards
By: Gary Inrig
This book is a real eye opener when it comes to friendships today, I mean just look around you, what has happened to REAL friendships? Sadly most people think it the norm for friendships to be so shallow and unsteady, and sadly it is. But the worst part is that most churches today have allowed this norm to also creep into their congregations, but this must not be tolerated.
This book is very convicting, just what Christians need right now, conviction.
Using well known friendships of the Old Testament and also texts from the New, Inrig shows us what the Bible tells us of friendship, which may be more than you think.
Now, sadly, there is huge flaw in his book. In chapter 7 (Operation Rescue)Inrig talks of another kind of friend, the friend who cares enough about you that he will privately rebuke you for your own good. Nathan was the friend Inrig was discussing. Now don't take me wrong, the cause of the red flag I have raised does not come from the fact that Inrig talks of Nathan's bravery in telling David of his great sin. The red flag was raised when Inrig decided to get deep into what David's great sin was.
The Bible did not get into great detail of the sin so I do not think it was right of Inrig to talk about such things. The inappropriate things Inrig talks of are off topic, useless, and unchristian. It was wrong of him to talk so.
The rest of the book is very good (very much like the beginning) but that one red flag raised by pages 107-112 disappointed me greatly. If it was not for that red flag I would have rated this book 5 stares and I would have also mentioned that I would have not hesitated to recommend it to anyone. But due to that red flag I cannot just recommend it anyone.
But, if you just skip (and/or rip out) those pages this book turns into a 5 star book. :)

I love this book so much, the best book I’ve read on friendships and the true definition of love - the way God sees it and defines it.
