A best practices guide to all of the elements of an effective operational risk framework. While many organizations know how important operational risks are, they still continue to struggle with the best ways to identify and manage them.
The author methodically picks apart the basics of Operational Risk Management and Risk Framework. The strong case studies brought some of the dryer material to life. For example, the brief review of the 2012 London Olympics showed how we are surrounded, and potentially caught off guard, if we don't pay attention to the right risks. The visual examples and tables also provided strong supporting information. Although it's may not be the most exciting readying at times, it does have its enlightening moments. As an operational risk manager in my current role, I only wish I had read this guide as I was immersing myself into my new position. The consistent language with what typical large banks and what the regulators want is extremely helpful. This book is truly a definitive guide to OPS risk frameworks. If you're a risk manager or even have to think of this topic, it's a must reference guide to put you in a position to make critical decisions and take effective actions. - Thomas B.
