East of Aspen is a well-illustrated Rocky Mountain field guide which intimately depicts the history, geology, animal life and vegetation of the Independence Pass area east of Aspen, Colorado. Included is a history of the Aspen area from the Ute Indian era and a species identification guide specific to the Colorado Rockies around Aspen. The guide contains 227 color photos, 34 historic b/w photos and 14 drawings and illustrations.
