Counterfeit prescription drugs are being distributed in every American city, killing thousands. Behind this pandemic is a cartel run by mob boss Marco Vennuti. When the FBI sets up a Pharmaceutical Drug Squad of Special Agents to shut down the cartel’s operations, the members are immediately in danger as Vennuti takes drastic measures to protect the cartel from the deepening FBI probe.

Special Agent Mark Matthews is assigned to the squad and is teamed up with Special Agent Wendy Farrell to stop the cartel's ever-tightening grip.

As if going up against the mob wasn't intimidating enough for Matthews, the danger is amplified when Mel Tarkington, responsible for the death of Mark’s former lover, Susan Harrigan, comes out of hiding.

And he's hell-bent on killing Mark.

In this follow-up to his bestselling crime novel Blood Money, Janssen once again delivers high drama, intensity and action.

Ken’s debut novel centers on the exploits of Mark Matthews, a private investigator turned FBI agent. In Blood Money Mark helps topple an association funneling money to terrorist organizations.

Fatal Dose, the second Mark Matthews Mystery, exposes a drug mafia distributing counterfeit prescription drugs.

Mysterious Forces is a multi-genre work about how Archetypes and Basic Instincts control our lives. Steeped in Jungian Metaphysics, it tells the story of three generations of the Hampton family, living, unknowingly, under the influence of the Archetype Perfidia.

Everyman, Revisited, Ken’s latest novel takes narrative license from a fifteenth century allegorical morality play and Philip Roth’s modern day adaptation, both simply called Everyman. In Everyman, Revisited, the protagonist is portrayed by Reverend Aaron Masters, minister of the New Thought Metaphysical Center. The novel is not about “new thought” per se; rather about new ways of thinking. Everyman, Revisited is as provocative as it is inspirational. It is written under the pen name Michael St. James.

Ken has epublished several short stories at Nights and Weekends, Writing Raw and Long Story Short.

Ken lives in Ohio, with his wife Jeannette.

A Great Read

it's always great to find an author I haven't read before who really appeals to me. I am looking forward to another Mark Matthews mystery by K J Janssen. I do like novels with recurring characters. This one had an interesting plot and believable characters with enough mystery and suspense to keep me reading.

Poor, poor editing that was horribly distracting.

The writing felt strange in this book - almost like reading Dick and Jane. The story line was ok but I don't know if I would read another by this author.

Unrealistic dialogue especially during intimate scenes. The build-up to action was good but the denouement was rushed and inadequate.
