Construction zone ahead! With this rough and tumble board book, toddlers will experience the construction of a new building from the ground up.
Under Construction lets kids experience construction from the ground up. This little book is packed to the rafters with all of the most recognizable construction equipment. Read along as bulldozers, diggers, and dump trucks all do their part in transforming a dusty pile of rubble into a shiny new toy store, introducing preschoolers to construction signs along the way.
3.25 stars I know kids , especially boys are mad about construction and I think this book is cut, but I am living in a construction boom...my once small town keeps growing. From one stop light growing up to...well I stopped counting after 8. To mom and pop stores to Big boxes...so Progress is fine but I am tried of Construction. my once pristine from the library view out the window to the mountain is now marred by a "TRACTOR SUPPLY STORE" Sign..and it just makes me sad! But boys will like this book so read on!
When the signs go up and the big machines come out, you know something's under construction.
This was another gift from super cool Auntie to The Boy (2), and considering that the sight of a digger will set him up for hours, this was a guaranteed win. Every page is full of things to look at and point out, and it does seem a bit sign-obsessed, but it's also educational, so it's pretty great all around. This one often ends up in hand when it's time to pick a book to take into the crib.
This book was not very interesting to me yet. I do not know many things in the pictures, mom says that's OK because I learn about it from the book but that is not as fun for me. also this book is all about signs and words on signs and I just don't care about that yet. maybe some day when I am older.
1/7/17 there is a cat in this book! I like to find him on the pages. and in the last page there is a car and a ball and a choo choo!
My son loves this book, but it is definitely not my favorite. I personally do not find the story very engaging. And the pictures are so-so. The one thing I DO like about this book is that all of the vehicles in the pictures are labeled. So, as someone who is not super familiar with construction vehicles, at least I know what to call them when I read this book with my son!
This is a very simple and cute board book introducing little ones to some basics of construction. There’s just enough text and detail in the illustration, and finding the cat on each page is a lot of fun. There was a missed opportunity for showing diverse construction workers, which is why I took off a star from what I otherwise would’ve considered a 5-star book.
