The Wisdom of the Saints: An Anthology

Rate this book
Covering more than 2,000 years of Christian history, this deeply moving collection presents hundreds of brief and encouraging observations, exhortations, and affirmations of joy, faith, hope, folly, and much more from the writings of both famous and lesser-known saints. From the polished literary statements of St. Francis de Sales to the near-legendary remarks of the early wonder-working saints of Ireland, they invite you t join the timeless communion of those who have loved God- men and women of every century and of every social and cultural circumstance. As a human family that transcends time and place, the saints impart to you the strength to cope with every earthbound struggle and care. They add depth and significance to every challenge you face, even as their profound words lift your spirit ever closer to the sublime ecstasy of eternal life.

This book was like talking to the Saints. 2,000 years
of church history! It ranges from their sayings, from
their writings. The writings include diary notations
and the Saint's resolutions. The writings brought the
Saints alive and in human form. I really enjoyed this book.
