He also discovers his mother has decided to return to college, which puts the family in financial hardship. In an effort to help, Nick finds a summer job at Shamrock Stables and takes part in a cattle drive to round up cattle for market. His journey includes an ornery steer, a broken ankle, new friends, and new adventures.
