14 books1 followerAlla Crone was born in Harbin, Manchuria, and grew up there among the White Russian emigres. She lived in China until she was married in Shanghai after World War II, and since then has lived in Germany, Washington. D.C., San Francisco, and Seattle. She now resides in California.
Her research has taken her to Russia and Siberia, and she has drawn on her own and her mother's backgrounds as the setting for both Winds Over Manchuria and her first novel. East Lies the Sun. Fluent in both English and Russian, she has published poetry in Russian, and her articles have appeared in national magazines.
